What is it??

More items from Patton's Corner.  I feel like I should know what the rusty item is, but for the life of my I cannot think what it is.  And wish now I had examined them both close.  I don't know why I hesitate to pick things up, but I do.

Over here, we have Victorian-era hydrant pipes that rise up over the buildings to release sewerage fumes (or they used to) and the tops of those pipes were often decorated with wrought ironwork similar to this... YAM xx

  3. Hello,

They are interesting items, I am not sure what it is. The top looks ornate, like a lid? Take care, enjoy your day! Have a great day week ahead!

  4. I think the red thing might be a globe that goes on an old antique oil lamp. And maybe the other thing the rusty thing is like a smoker's pot like you put something in it and set it out to keep your plants warm in the winter time put fire inside and Let the Smoke go up into the plants other than that I can't think of anything it is truly interesting

  6. I don’t have a clue either but I am curious. I rarely touch anything for fear of causing an avalanche!

  7. That looks like something you would put water in and set on the wood stove to put moisture in the air, if not I have no clue :)

  8. Interesting. Not sure what it is. Could it be used for cooking something in and you set it right in the fire?

  9. I don't have any guess as to what these are.

  10. That rusty thing looks to be cast iron. A wild guess is that it's some kind of heater that might hold glowing coals.

  11. The old photo behind these items really gives it all a very antique look. Nice find.

  13. I really have no idea. They are both quite interesting. The larger one looks like some kind of incense burner and the other looks like some kind of red globe for a light. It would definitely be nice to figure out what they are!

  14. I am as puzzled as the rest - but I agree that the antique photo is a wonderful element.

My racecar posted today is almost for sure a 1957 Dodge or Plymouth. All branding was stripped off, but both me and a friend who was with me (and is about the same age) remember single headlights and fins meant 1957; we think the body is Chrysler Corp and Dodges and Plymouths were nearly indistinguishable in that era.

  15. I don't even have a guess as to what these could be. Some of the guesses sounded good though. Would be interesting to find out what it is.
