Yellow gold

To farmers, this probably is yellow gold.

  1. I'd love a cob or two, fresh from the boiling water or grill, slathered with butter with a little salt and pepper. Oh dear... I'm off to the refrigerator!

  3. One of my cousins is a farmer and he used to grow corn. Not sure if he still does. He had both field corn and sweet corn.
This picture does look like little nuggets of gold.

  4. It's an uncommon crop here, but I saw some being harvested just last week. I know from experience that there's not much gold to be had in farming.

  15. We bought enough corn to get us through the winter and froze it.

  16. the city folk look and see "corn on the cob" and imagine it dripping in butter. When we drive by fields of drying corn, ready for harvest, my wife often wonders why it was not picked in time. 'Perhaps it is popcorn" she has wondered more than once.

I like your treatment that emphasizes the shapes, textures and subtle shadows between the kernels.
