I have been going to try to identify this but have not taken the time to yet. So I hope someone can tell me in their comments. It isn't just a female House Sparrow, is it?
Edited to add:
thanks Ginny, Anni, and Yamini for identifying this as the Chipping Sparrow.
when i saw the title, i was digging for my Drivers License. ha ha.. i would guess that this is a really cute chubby brown and beige BIRD... ha ha again
I also agree that it is a Chipping Sparrow. There are so many different types of sparrows, it is hard sometimes identify them. These are wonderful close up pictures!
two nice pictures Rose... i have been looking for three days on the internet for some birds that i have in the queue ... i still haven't found it....peter:)

ReplyDeleteIt is said that there is very little difference between a sparrow and a finch!! But somehow, this looks like a sparrow!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm no bird expert, but this does look like the birds we see around the apartment. I assume they are sparrows.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like our local sparrows but I dare not confirm because I know very little about birds.
ReplyDeleteI've never been good at identifying birds so I'm no help.
