Where they came from...

Where these came from is more than I know.  I found them packed away in a box with other things.

  1. I can't recognize the one on the left but the other 3 are "laughing Buddha" figurines.

The Chinese Fisherman figurine is a traditional form - most commonly executed in ceramics (and known as 'mudmen'). It is likely that someone brought this back as a souvenir item from a trip to Hong Kong or other Chinese territories. YAM xx

  11. Discovering these and not knowing the story warrants some questioning. Maybe from a garage sale back in the '70's? :-)

  16. Fun finding things. Cute buddha poses. I just found 4 saving bonds while looking through some more of my late Mother's things. They are made out to me and she got them in 1992 so I am going to the bank.

  19. These are really cute. The three on the right are Hotei or Laughing Buddha. You are supposed to rub their tummy for good luck. I am not sure about the figure on the far left. A great image.
