I have posted pics o this building before...maybe even this one. It is long gone. You cannot even tell it was ever there. But I always wonder what it was used for.
I think it was a Meeting House, either for church or for town meetings. something along those lines. it is sad it is gone, it should have been restored for those who can't remember these old buildings. love it
This is a huge building. It reminds me of a tobacco drying barn where the tobacco plants were hung by the rafters to dry. A wonderful old building. I am sorry that it is no longer there.

ReplyDeleteCrikey, it was well guarded by the vegetation! A striking image, for sure... YAM xx
Me too; this was the very first thought in my head upon seeing it! Do you think it was someone's home? Quite strange if it was.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a tobacco-drying shed, though I don't know if it was ever grown in your part of the country.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you took the shot when you did. Quite striking!
ReplyDeletePerhaps to store timber. The trees around look like protecting the building.
ReplyDeleteThe photo itself, is a work of art.

ReplyDeletePathetic...but beautiful in its own way :)))))
ReplyDeleteMaybe a row of residences for people who worked on the farm.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great picture whatever it was.
Whatever it was it's a very nice photograph.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
It looks like it was being held up by the trees. Very nicely shot.

ReplyDeleteI wonder how old it was. Poor thing.
ReplyDeleteTrès pittoresque avec une belle osmose nature ..
ReplyDeleteIt's always a shame when old buildings of any kind are torn down. It looks like it had lots of doors. Then again they look a bit narrow to be doors.
