This started out just something to sew without thinking...totally did not think I would like it. But I did like it. It was finished in 2006. I named it River of Light. it was a quilt as you go string block. the only consistent thing was the yellows, the yellow sashing...and the black strip next to the yellow. None of it was really measured, so it really surprised me that the black strips came so close to matching up in most cases.
I LOVE it! It is so uplifting and cheerful. Using it would be like laying under a ray of sunshine. And the name is AWESOME, because it IS a River Of Light!!
ReplyDeleteWow. That is an amazing amount of beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful design with great colors. Sometime the informal planning makes it a great expression.

ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, Rose!!! YAM xx
Extraordinary!! Really extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. Very impressive that you didn't measure while you were doing this. I couldn't get things to match up if I measured.
ReplyDeleteIt is BEAUTIUL and I love it!!!! it really is a river of light and joy. It looks like you planned it the way it is.. 20 years, do you still have it?
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful! I've always dreamed of having a lovely colorful quilt like this one, it's amazing!
ReplyDeleteA lovely complicated design just becomes a thing of beauty in your hands!! How lovely it looks !!! Great work...no, no, labour of love Rose!!!
ReplyDeleteI've only quilted once, though my mother followed patterns. Mine was patchwork with machine-sewing strips of scraps together. I like your pattern and colors and the way you made borders to keep it large enough for your bed! A quilt of many colors but ever so warm!
ReplyDeleteHOw lovely and colorful

This is a gorgeous quilt. I love the colors, especially the different shades of yellow and the design. You put a lot of work into this.
ReplyDeleteI have been wishing for another quilting post from you. The quilters in my extended family have not been posting on FB lately. It's time I check on them. Thanks for the quilt post that came with a nudge to check of them!
