I've heard about round barns, but I've never understood why they were made that way. Of course in Britain, before the Romans arrived 2,000 years ago, all buildings were made circular. It's a very sensible design, enclosing more area with less materials, and being stronger and more stable with no corners which are vulnerable to storm damage.
Ditto to seeing inside. The carpentry is amazing and how it's structured inside must mean lots of beams and cross-beams. Thanks so much for capturing this view!
It's lovely and I wonder too what the inside is like. We have one not too far from me although it is one you can check out as it's a B & B you can rent.
This is gorgeous! A beautiful barn. There are not a lot of round barns around. I have only seen two near me. I love everything about this image. The view and the beautiful trees in the background. A superb composition.
That is wonderful. Due to illness, my commenting might become limited. I will try to let you know I viewed. And i have to only do one blog. It takes too much energy.
So would I. Wow, this is gorgeous! I don't think I have ever seen one. It looks fairly new as well.
ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing structure. I bet that the ones who made it were really proud of their work. It looks like the roof has been just redone.

ReplyDeleteThis is so unique!!! I'm thinking there is a safety feature in round barns...in high wind areas ( no corners to catch for much damages )
