Round barn

This beauty is not too far from me...maybe 20-25 minutes.  I would love to see inside.

  2. It is an amazing structure. I bet that the ones who made it were really proud of their work. It looks like the roof has been just redone.

  3. I've heard about round barns, but I've never understood why they were made that way. Of course in Britain, before the Romans arrived 2,000 years ago, all buildings were made circular. It's a very sensible design, enclosing more area with less materials, and being stronger and more stable with no corners which are vulnerable to storm damage.

  4. There was one not far from us, but it collapsed about 20 years ago. This one is amazing. Great to look at.

  5. This is so unique!!! I'm thinking there is a safety feature in round barns...in high wind areas ( no corners to catch for much damages )

  7. Ditto to seeing inside. The carpentry is amazing and how it's structured inside must mean lots of beams and cross-beams. Thanks so much for capturing this view!

  12. This is gorgeous! A beautiful barn. There are not a lot of round barns around. I have only seen two near me. I love everything about this image. The view and the beautiful trees in the background. A superb composition.
