This is from the archives. I am not even sure what these are. They are growing up from the roots of a maple tree we had taken down several years ago. It is a cropped portion of the one and only photo I took.
I have never seen anything like this but when I push down on photo and searched using google lens it came up with farmed mullusk is what it is. i dont think that is right. really odd

Bird's Nest Fungi - I've never seen them in real life but recall seeing photos of them somewhere.

ReplyDeleteThey remind me of what we called puff balls. The ball would grow and then explode and what looked like smoke was actually spores coming out.
