Sometimes I am sure this one's color is getting lighter...other times I think it is just the way the light hits it that makes the color look different. Whatever the facts of the matter, it sometimes looks almost black.
I love seeing flowers with droplets on them, whether rain or dew. If that flower almost looks bladk sometimes, you'd better get the camera out and show me (yes I used to live in the Show Me State.)
I went to your 2009 blog site as you suggested, and yes, it was much closer to black. But again it could be the light striking it. I have seen (and photographed) a black iris. Now I'll have to go see where it was posted! It wasn't mine, but a neighbor's.
This is gorgeous! I love the color. I wonder if the minerals in the soil might have something to do with it. In any event, this is a stunning iris!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what causes this, maybe the different kinds of light? It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI like it just the way you've shown it here, with the sparkle of raindrops providing an added bonus.
