When our girls were young...pre-teen....we often took them to this creek. They waded, caught crawdads, snakes (garter snakes), or anything they could find, and Roger and I waded and fished. We passed this barn so, so many times. Then, a few years ago it was no longer there, nor could you see a sign that any barn had ever been there.
Sad. Now I'm wondering if this is the creek you took Lorelei to.
ReplyDeleteJust as well you had a photo - I've often found myself in the position of knowing that something's disappeared and unable to recall just what was there.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a shock when something like that disappears. Interesting colors on the concrete block silo.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad when things like that disappear. I drove by a place the other day that I remember seeing all the time when I was growing up. It had a bit of a steeple on the roof with a little statue inside. Sometimes the statue was standing sometimes fallen over. We would always guess if it would be standing or not before we got to that point in our drive.
ReplyDeletethat is sad, it would make nice memories to leave it there. the silo is gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteIt is a beauty of a barn. It is a shame it is gone. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you captured it before its demise! The tones are superb in this B&W composition.
ReplyDeleteSince there was nothing left maybe they used the old wood and made a new barn.
ReplyDeleteIt is always strange when something you are so used to seeing is all of a sudden gone. It must have been quite a job to take it down and haul it away. I like the foundation and the silo.
ReplyDeleteOh its sad to see the barn gone. The demise of history.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo.
