It was a drab, dreary day when I took this photo. It was a thing of beauty in an otherwise colorless day. It was one of the few trees with any leaves still attached.

I love looking for the red at this time of year. The grays behind the tree set off the red so beautifully. And the path below is like an artist's mark of approval, framing the trees.
Beautiful reds and greys. Great shot! I had a tree picked out that I was going to take a picture of, but I did not get back to it in time before the tree shed its leaves. It's a shorter season here in the north. Anna
I just love finding those little spots of cheer among the drab of wintry colors. Saw your Lorelei on the other blog, she reminds me so much of my oldest when she was a baby. (She's 22 now.) We saw the Lorelei in Germany in person this year. :)
As gray as the day looks, the ruby glow of the foliage is a stunning contrast. We don't feel gray when we see this slight but arresting red!
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking tree! I love t when there;s a bit of colour but still some green.
ReplyDeleteWOW i'm speechless..it's STUNNING!

This is so impressive. Strange that that one tree has hung on to its leaves and its beauty when all else has gone gray!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot, Rose!
Awesome! I like how the red is set against the greyer background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree! You're right; it brightens an otherwise gloomy day. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy RT entry is here. Happy RT! :)

ReplyDeleteWe don't have any trees that look this colorful left up here on the Plateau. The leaves still on the trees are all brown.
