One more from Amish country

I have never done this work, but have always thought it must be a backbreaking job to do.

  1. A number of years ago, before Bob and I met, he baled hay for extra cash and to help out his landlord. He said it was hard work.

  2. Oh --what a neat picture though, Rose... That work has to be hard --and back-breaking for sure.

  3. A fine shot of this field of bales. I worked putting alfalfa bales back in the upstairs of a barn when I was in high school and hired out for the summer. It was very hot, very hard, and arms, despite sleeves, became very scratched.

  4. That's a nice picture. Are this miniature hay stacks?

  5. This is a wonderful picture of rural America (Indiana). It brings memories of a bygone, simpler era. I really like it.

  6. That looks like a lot of work, if that was done by hand! Back-breaking indeed.
