I always hate to see this happen. If the roof is maintained, a barn can last forever. It won't be long now until this one becomes a ruin. What a shame....
It's probably got a few more years...those things were built quite well. I like that "ladder" for running the hay to the loft. Amazing that it was left in that position.
poor little skeleton peeking thru...
ReplyDeleteI like T's comment about the skeleton...It does look like it.
ReplyDeleteDo any of the farmers have the money to repair them? Have you seen any repaired?
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is sad, I do like this photo.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, what a waste!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty, Rose... do you mind if I link it to Barn Charm? =)
ReplyDeleteI see old worn places like this and wonder what they were like in their heyday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fine old barn. Too bad it has fallen due to the winds, weathering and sheer age. Nice shot of it.
ReplyDeletetells a sad story, but i like it. looks like telephone poles leaning up in the loft

ReplyDeleteIt does seem so sad to see proud old buildings left to die. Do you suppose they are still using the hay elevator. MB
ReplyDeleteI'd say that one is really far gone. Winds are so hard on those metal roofs.
