First an old shot...it may even have been one scanned in...can't remember for sure. I always stop to snap a photo if I can...

And this shot is from today. No snow really collected on their backs, but still a good shot.

All huddled together and cold!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the comparing shots - very nice. And cows are so curious - they make such good subjects because they will always look at your camera! The snow looks COLD! Glad we do't have a lot of it here!
ReplyDeleteI'm so enjoying seeing the snow photographs! I can't imagine how the cattle endure it though
ReplyDeleteIt looks a bit chilly to me and plenty of snow still to come by the looks of it.
ReplyDeleteThat second fence seems to have been banged about a bit. I do love how there is always one cow that will stare back at you as you take your shot!
ReplyDeletei wonder what cows think of snow? great shots. (:
ReplyDeletepoor sweet cows, so cold.. i like the fence in the last shot, lots of character and charm
ReplyDeletethey are both great shots
ReplyDeletelove the 'cattle call'. ha ha! :)
ReplyDeleteNice comparison of both photos. I guess the cows keep each other warm when they huddle together like that!
ReplyDeleteBoth are fine "fence" shots. I like the toning on that first one. Both make good use of the fences as a foreground object of interest. Good shooting, Rose!
ReplyDeleteI like both shots, although the difference in the amount of snow is interesting. You did a great job on both. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI like both shots as they both have character and look like the person who took them cared about the subject matter. The broken fence is fantastic! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI love both too. And for sure it's cold!

Looks like that one caw is very interested in having their portrait taken by you :-)
ReplyDeleteYou do a great job with snowy photography. I used to feel badly for cattle out in this kind of weather but a farmer friend explained that it is actually healthier for them than being in a manmade shelter. I think they use each other to stay warm. Notice how they all face outward or stand in the same direction? Wonder why?
ReplyDeleteYou were able to shoot all of that white glare form the snow so well. These are both so nice. The last one, though, is my favorite. Love the break in gut wooden fence. Looks so familiar. genie
ReplyDeleteI love these photos. So rustic.
ReplyDeleteThese are both great shots. I love the black and white for the first one.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the two shots together! I like the broken slat and falling down barn in the second shot, especially!!
ReplyDeleteI love the b&w, but the broken railing in the second is very charming.
