I went fishing at Mansfield, Indiana the other evening...almost the whole time I was fishing this Great Blue Heron was up the creek at the base of the dam. I was there for over an hour and I did not see him catch anything...and neither did I for that matter. Finally, he flew up to this building that was just behind me about 30-40 feet. I definitely got the feeling I was in his fishing spot, so I eased back to the Rav4, got my camera and snapped a few pics and left him in peace after a few minutes.
i bet he was waiting for you to leave his fishing hole.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot, Rose. Usually when one shows up the Heron will take off. Better luck next time for both of you.
ReplyDeleteNice to see ya back. MB
You got a fine shot of him checking you out. It was thoughtful to leave his fishing spot.
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty sentry he makes.
ReplyDeleteThis shot is wonderful, it looks just like he is posing for you! And I love the little bird flying in the background!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I haven't seen many herons this summer. Haven't seen much of anything of interest. I guess I'm not looking hard enough.
