Any time I run across this photo and another one or two with almost this exact view, I love it all over again. It was one of those times when everything just seemed so clear, and where everything seemed just a tad bit eerie because of the lighting. You know, that lighting that comes with a storm that is sort of a yellowness....it always makes me wonder what is going to happen next.
I totally know what you mean, and I agree completely. When the sky is not really black, but there is a weird light and it feels like maybe a catastrophic event is coming. This is beautiful, yet it does have that feel, like the hair raising on the back of your neck.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo . . . I like the mystery that happens with the changing clouds, light . . . what might happen . . .
ReplyDeleteThat is an ominous looking sky!
ReplyDeleteI love the light here! I'm always glad if I have my camera when I come upon such a lovely scene.

ReplyDeletenote: thanks for helping me identify my wildflower. i think that was it. i'll check the leaves on my image against those found online to make sure but i think you're right. thanks again~
Here in California skies like that I don't even think about. In Indiana and the other Midwest states, they get my attention in a big way.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very pretty setting for showing us the threatening sky. Love the water and tree scene.
ReplyDeleteI used to count the second from flash to thunder to figure out the distance to the strike.
Hopefully nothing terrible came of those dramatic clouds. They do make for a great image, however.
