Japanese Beetles have green iridescent coloring, but I don't think it is all over like that one.
It is surely more beautiful in the image than it would be flying toward me.
Dogbane Beetle. Way too gorgeous for a name like that!
We always called them June bugs!!!

I'm with Mildred [blackberry lane] on this one. We always called 'em June Bugs.
It's a Dogbane beetle. It get's it's name from eating Dogbane plants which look exactly like milkweed.
we have these here and they are pretty. i just call them big beetles. we have little beetles and medium beetles. they fall in the pool all the time...
