For the Barn Collective

This is an old barn we passed last weekend on our ramble...
Again all those windows.  I suppose they are to let light in.  There appears to be no cracks between the boards...
I think if I owned this barn I would really try to find the time to cut the trees away from it.  It has been, and still is such a beautiful barn.  I would love for it to stand another hundred years at least.

This is my entry for Amy's Barn Collective

  2. Yes, it is a good-looking barn. I have never understood why folks let so much grow up around their barns and sheds, and not keep it trimmed or neat. Tree roots, especially, can do so much damage.

  3. It is a luxury barn because it has windows! Nice accommodations for the animals. It is in pretty good shape, only needs some paint.

  5. That is certainly a grand old barn. I love the roofline. Your barns have much steeper roofs than ours - for the snow I guess.

  6. Beautiful barn and it looks like it is on a working farm - both good things. I'm with you though, the trees could go. :-)

  8. Beautiful old barn. If it were in our area, it would not stand another 100 years unless it had cattle in it to keep it warm. If it's in a warmer climate that doesn't have ground frozen to 6 feet deep in the winter, it might last a good, long time. Let's hope so.

  9. It is a huge and seemingly sturdy barn. I too would like to see this part of our heritage preserved for future generations.

  10. It is a beautiful barn---I would love to have it and spend some time on it.
I hope that 'dozer is not there to push it over.

  13. Still in good shape, a good roof to help the walls stay strong.

  14. It is a big old barn and a beauty! I hope it survives a long, long time. I agree about the trees. They add a lot to the photo, but the roots and branches cause much damage over time.
