I have several photos of this butterfly. I think it is the Great Spangled Fritillary but if you know different, feel free to say so.
I was chasing it down to get these shots...
It kept getting on this Queen Anne's lace that was at eye-level.
I hope you enjoy its beauty as much as I did...but the photos do not do it justice.
I do wonder what they think of us...or do they have any thought at all? They probably just have an instinct for survival.

I believe that is correct. We get those on our milkweed. They are bright and beautiful.
