I would not enjoy this job at any time...summer or winter. But I suppose winter would be a bit better than summer. This is a brick-making kiln in northern Vermillion County.
That kiln is a very cool structure. Well, I guess "cool" isn't the right word really, but I like it. Having said that, I sure wouldn't want to do that work. Too hot for me.
about as hot as working on a road crew, i'm guessing!
ReplyDeleteI agree, though I'm not sure winter would be much better--burning hot in front and freezing cold behind. :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very wrm job! I'm wondering what the kiln is for.
ReplyDeleteNow would get very hot. It is a very large kiln!
ReplyDeleteGreat image. Hot, back-breaking work I would say.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough job, having to endure the heat especially in hot weather. Bless these people for their job. Have a beautiful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteIt is a tough job and very hot. Great photo! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteback breaking work, but it sure made a great photo
ReplyDeleteMakes for a fascinating photo.
ReplyDeleteA fine shot of this "hot" situation. I can't imagine how hot this radiates out into the workman's space.
ReplyDeleteHard work and Hot too.

I'll volunteer to be the one who leans on the shovel.
ReplyDeleteI like the way the fire stands out. YOu have composed this beautifully.

ReplyDeleteCool capture. I agree with one commentor, warm in the front and freezing in the back during the winter months.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I don't even like opening the oven on a hot day. I can't imagine how hot a brick kiln would feel.
ReplyDeleteI can see where it would be a very warm job in summer and perhaps even in winter. It's really a cool photo of something you don't normally see.
