I loaded this before I left home...was in a hurry to load something and this is just what I came to first. We were sitting at a stoplight in Crawfordsville...love these old buildings. I just wish I could have been around to see some of these places built.
Impressive detail under the eaves and around the windows.
ReplyDeleteI've heard these details referred to as "gingerbread". Don't think that's a technical architectural term though. :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like the older building too. such character they have.

I've often wondered if details like these were pre-cast. I see much the same architecture, in some of the older buildings, where I live.
ReplyDeleteold buildings amaze me that they could build all the beauty way back when without all the tools we have today
ReplyDeleteThis old building has a detailed row of decoration just below the roof. I don't know what it's called.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting building.
They just don't detail like they used to do they?
ReplyDeleteThis old building is still looking and standing strong. Very detailed designs which we do not see in new buildings.
ReplyDeleteThe architecture is so different from what is built today. It would be fun to see buildings like this being built.
ReplyDeletenice details.
ReplyDeleteThis building has great details.
ReplyDeleteYep, they don't make them like this any more!
ReplyDeleteThey really don't make buildings like they used to do they, with such detail.
