Low-flying Civil Air Patrol

A shot through the windshield on our way home...not too far from Attica, Indiana.  If you click and look at the bigger view, you will see that on the tail it says Civil Air Patrol.  I have no idea who/what they are and do.

    I imagine that they fly around being terribly civil to everyone - "After you, old boy!"

    t know the CAP was still around. They are an auxiliary of the air force and help with Civil matters. Interesting.
