I almost started feeding the birds again...and if we get the ice we are supposed to get I will probably suffer guilty pangs for not buying more to feed them with.
The snow birds! I haven't seen any yet, but the come every year. They seem to love the bad weather. Your picture is wonderful!!! All puffed up, the way the light is shining on him, the one bright eye. Truly wonderful!!
I LOVE Junco. Their feathers look more soft to me than any other bird that visits our feeders. Terry thinks I'm nuts because I feed the birds even when the weather is terrible, but I can't help it. I only feed black oil sunflower seeds that I mix in safflower seed, and I have several suet feeders as well. The bluebirds have their own feeder that I put freeze dried meal worms in. We had a lot of rain and warmer weather, though still really cold. I watched Junco the other day taking a bath in the puddles. It made me wonder why a bird would take a bath when it's so cold out.
Hope all is well with you and your family. xx, Carol
I have never started feeding because then it's difficult to stop.

ReplyDeleteHello Rose, sweet Junco. My Maryland backyard birds must be missing me and the food. Happy weekend!

Beautiful light in this photo. I don't have a good enough camera to take bird pics and I really enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo! We've had one lone Junco stay with us all winter. It feeds early in the morning and again late afternoon.
