We went for a short drive today...I was looking for a barn. Or rather where a barn used to be. It was torn down the last time I went by...but I didn't find the spot...but did run across this place which I have photographed before but it has been a long time.
I was about to pull away when something caught my eye....
I saw what it was and quickly zoomed in...I think it was a bit cold for it today and it was sitting there to absorb some sunshine.
It was 6ºF along about 7:30 this morn, then a couple hours later it was 3ºF....yep, you read that right. It went down a bit more before it started getting warmer. We saw this dove and it was not long before I looked at the thermometer on the car and it was all of 11ºF.
Before I even read your print, I thought to myself that this looks like a prairie church! I expect the Waltons to drive up any minute. Cold here too, but not like you. Then in a week it will be nearly 70!!!
ReplyDelete...I sure like old white country churches.
ReplyDeletewhat a precious little dove sitting on that beautiful old church. the south is full of churches like this one. thanks for sharing it
ReplyDeleteI like the name of the church. You got a find series of it. The bird was puffed up for a good reason. I've notxied that we have the same dip in temperature in the early morning.
ReplyDeleteA nice simple little church.
ReplyDeleteHello, pretty church. Love the sweet dove! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteShe looks very plump...but they don't lay eggs this time of year. Maybe she is just prepared for winter!
ReplyDeleteCharming church!
The sun really is warming up the dove. That is an old church and I am glad they are still having one service rather than no service. We tear our barns down in Iowa because they still tax a barn that is not in use.
ReplyDeleteWow - amazingly cold - hope the poor dove stayed warm enough to survive. Great photo of the little church.
