From the corner of my porch....
Just one of several blooms from the Trillium--the girls planted them when they were still home and still in school. I am not sure if it is the one called Toadshade or if it is the Prairie Trillium. I like to think it is the Prairie Trillium because we live in West Central Indiana.
In reading I also learned that Trillium is called Wake Robin...I had always heard of Wake Robin but had never thought to look it up.
Another plant that the girls planted for me when they were young were these:
Virginia Bluebells. These are a bit past their prime, but you can tell that they are really beautiful.
I have never seen anything like the Trillium! And what wonderful memories they have for you. We have these bluebells around here.
ReplyDeleteBoth are pretty. I've never heart of Trillium but I have heard of Bluebells
ReplyDeleteIts a blessing to enjoy the flowers that your girls planted. They are both very pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteTwo plants that I'm not familiar with, I'm ashamed to say, though I'm certain they are grown in gardens over here and I've probably walked past them without noticing. I shall look out in future.
ReplyDeleteLOVE those bluebells, so beautiful. the trillium is pretty also, but the blue bells speak to me most... have never seen either plant in real life.
ReplyDeleteBoth are so pretty but I like the bluebells best. Even their name is pretty.
ReplyDeleteBoth flowers look very nice, and I like the colours of each plant.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Both flowers are beautiful. These are also both ones that I have never seen. I don't think they grow here.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a clear and vivid picture, Rose. The Virginia Bluebells are so unique and very pretty. And it's still around since the girls were young, that is something else. : )
