Ginkgo leaves

These are from another year...this is the only ginkgo tree I know of, and it is about 45 minutes south of us.  I really wanted to go back down there this year to take pics but did not make it before the weather got bad.

In fact fall was way too short for me....

  1. The second picture is my favorite, it is just gorgeous wt the sun shining on it! I adore Ginko leaves, they look like little fans. And they have remained unchanged since before the dinosaurs, the oldest tree known.

  2. Beautiful leaves. Don't know if the ginkgo is the same as the ginkgo that I love to eat.

  3. There is a large grove of them at Blandy not far from us. We make a pilgrimage there every autumn.

  6. I am blessed to have a 100+ year old ginkgo tree in my yard. I love how all of the yellow leaves fall off in one day. Beautiful photos. Friendship

  12. Gorgeous colors captured in these ginkgo leaves! I have a ginkgo tree in the parkway, but a pile of leaves I wanted to capture also were lost by the early snow we got. :-(

  13. Those leaves are amazing in shape and in color.,Of course we don't see them around here. That's one of the things I like about blogging. I get to see places and things I would never see otherwise. Not to mention that I have met the most wonderful people through blogging.

  17. Fall is always way too short, isn't it? I don't think we really had one this year, at least not more than a day or two and then it snowed. I love ginkgo leaves, they're easy to identify and I associate them with my tween years for some reason. Very pretty shots. Have a great Thanksgiving, Rose.
