We passed this farm last week. In this photo I am driving east. The other day I was coming
from the east...so did not realize till we got past the barn that the farm house was gone. There was a pile of rubble in its place. My heart just sank...I just so hate that it is gone.
OH, what a disappointment! This photo is so classic, a piece of Americana!!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to see old landmarks disappearing. Maybe the people have moved somewhere warmer.
ReplyDeleteIt happens... WE miss them when they're gone.
ReplyDeleteOh that is sad. I wonder why it was taken down.
ReplyDeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleterubble... hmmm... new one coming in its place perhaps? That will be worth recording too! YAM xx
that is sad, I wonder if they moved it or just tore it down. maybe building a new home? it really is sad to see them disapear
ReplyDeleteThe farm house looks strong. Was it demolished to make way for a new farm house.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteIt is a cute house, love the red barn too.
It is sad the house is gone. Happy Mother's Day weekend!
Too bad looks like a nice house. Nice snowy picture!
ReplyDeleteOh Rose, that made me really sad :(Farm houses like these are only seen by me on movies and photos just like what you shared and I can imagine how cozy it is inside plus the memories that it has been part of.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend dear Rose! work has been tough this past few days but I'm glad I'm back here!
I feel sad when I see things like that also.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad to see things vanish or get razed down .Let us hope that something nice comes up there !
ReplyDeleteHave a safe weekend Rose :))))
Devi :)
It loos like a pretty good house. Maybe the main structure is not solid.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sad. I'm glad you captured the picture before it was too late.
ReplyDeleteA fine capture of this farm home before its demise.
ReplyDeleteit can be sad. i have passed a number of barns, sheds, trees, etc, and promised myself to come back with a camera, only to find them gone before I got around to them,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty place in the snow. Too bad the house is gone. I guess time marches on.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad. That happened to me a while ago. There was a beautiful barn with a stone foundation that I used to pass once in a while. The last time I went down that road, the barn had been demolished. A piece of our American history is gone.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad to see these places become abandoned. However, a lot of the young have no interest nor the money to pursue farming. I made that same decision decades ago.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is terrible. Makes me sick to see an old home torn down.
