Love this old shack, and it is perfect in black and white.
When I was a kid living in Chicago we would take Rte 66 south to visit my grandparents. Your recent explanation of strip pits reminded me that along the flat farm fields we used to pass these mounds of "dirt" next to small "lakes." I couldn't remember where - I was thinking somewhere near Pontiac. So I looked at a map, and there is Coal City right where we would pass. So thanks for the memory jog. Clinton looks quite a bit further south, but perhaps the geology is similar.
