Some kind of grass...


Not sure what this grass is.  The blade would just about cut you if you were to walk through a patch of it with bare legs.


It was up by the swamp we went to last weekend.

    YIKES, I have never seen this. They look like bottle brushes. But they are not the Bottle Brush plant I think.

    Some sort of sedge, I would think, from its appearance and wetland habitat. Wonderfully crisp photographs.

    It does look sharp and I would not want to walk through there but it's all so stunningly beautiful. I love those green pods

    Oh my! I have never seen any grass with such fruits! Beautiful Rose! You always share us species that we have never ever seen! This one reminds me of the brushes used to scrub baby bottles :) Sending you hugs for this Thursday dear Rose!

    Yes..like Yamini Mac Lean said it is Sedge Grass..Pendulous Sedge grass!

    I have been cut by grass blades and it hurts. No way would I go near those grass. But the brushes look pretty.

    I took a picture of your picture with the Plant Snap App on my phone and it said it is Longhair Sedge (Carex comosa).

    As others have said it is a Sedge also known as Bristly sedge. Botanical name Carex comosa
