Approaching beauty

I hope this hibiscus survives the winter.  I had a red one before, but we had a bitter cold winter that it did not survive.  The color of this one seems to change with the light, but we sure love it.

    Even not fully bloomed, it is gorgeous! I love the deep red color.

    I can imagine the beauty of blood red hibiscus when it is fully opened. Hope this one will survive the cold winter.

    My sister in law had hibiscus in Colorado where it freezes long & hard. Hers would winter-kill but always came back. I don't know how, but they did. Stunning color!

    this is lovely now, and will be even better when it fully opens. You seem a little far north for hibiscus to over-winter in the ground, aren't you?

    A nice rich color with so many folds as they unravel. I am amazed how large they get after starting as a small bulb. Great capture!
