I could almost design a quilt from this. Can you imagine keeping your wits about you enough to get all the shingles in the right place.
The above is simple, and was taken on the way north...but still someone was very talented to do this....
The following are from google earth...the first one of the horse I saw from a distance...much too far away and through trees...I only caught a glimpse of it....
Isn't it marvelous? It is the one that led me to looking on google earth/maps.
I did not see the one above or the one below....
We actually passed the rainbow/unicorn one, but I just missed it.
These are just amazing! I have never seen this roof art before and I love it! Wonderful images!
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing! That would be a real brain teaser to do.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! I had no idea they are roof tiles. I thought they were painted on. Wish we would pass one!
ReplyDeleteDecidedly rural themes the artists have chosen (except perhaps the unicorn). You don't see anything like it here apart from the occasional initials of the builder worked into the brickwork.

ReplyDeleteI too did not realise the tiling was the 'art'... it is fabulous!!! YAM xx
Thanks for these!
ReplyDeleteI find them amazing also. I think they must have been "painted" by a very talented roofer/artist. Expensive I would think.💖
ReplyDeleteAmazing roof art. These people took so much trouble to show their creativity.
ReplyDeleteYep I thought they were painted. This makes them even more amazing. These are real works of art.
ReplyDeleteWow, they are amazing. I like the first one of the cow.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day and a happy week ahead!
I love these. I told Larry about your post and told him he needs to use his drone to photograph some!
ReplyDeleteIt would take a very talented person to create those pictures, but the results are stunning.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of Google Earth! Wow. And I'm the one that thought they were painted on there I didn't know they were shingles that makes it even more amazing than paint and it would take a true gift to be able to do that with the tiles. Your blog is the only place I've ever seen roof art
ReplyDeleteThank you for the google earth shots to compare. Great job!
ReplyDeleteJust cannot imagine that they are shingles arranged!!! LOvely images !!!!
ReplyDeleteDevi :)))
Incredible artistry built into the layout of the roof shingles! Great series!
ReplyDeleteReally cool. I like the first one of the cow best!
ReplyDeleteA fine series of this special kiind of art work. Excellent series.
ReplyDeleteThat must take real skill and a lot of time to get the right shingles in the right place.
ReplyDeleteCool!Anew art form - shingle art. I have seen things painted on a roof, but not actually made from the tiles or shingles.
ReplyDeleteThese roofs are fabulous, an art that I like!
ReplyDeleteAmazing rood art.
ReplyDeleteAren't these amazing.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for sharing the photographs.
All the best Jan
That's a first for me and the roofs look fantastic!
