But have you seen it growing on rusty old machinery?
I know this is not a good photo...but it does show how the lichen is just growing everywhere. Patton's corner has all kinds of old farm implements, tools, etc. Almost all the ones sitting in the open are covered with lichen.
Oh my gosh, the first photo is amazing! I bet it even shows the actual spores! Nature's weird and spooky art.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen lichen like in the first picture, and I know about rust on old machinery but didn't know about the lichen. Wow!
ReplyDeleteGreat captures! We have lichen, but it sometimes is hard to spot with all the moss...
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, you'd think it'd need a porous surface!

ReplyDeleteI like both these images - there is something about the passage of time and the growing of mosses... YAM xx
I find that first photo simply fascinating. I like the second as well. There's something about old machinery that draws me in.
ReplyDeleteEspetacular a primeira foto.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.

ReplyDeleteWow, great photos and that first shot is really cool!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an interesting find! In the first photo, it looked like lichen from the seashore until the wider view showed it was in the heartland.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting that close up view is. SUch shapes and patterns!
ReplyDeleteThat level of lichen is new to me. Fine pictures of this unstopable curse.
ReplyDeletelove the macro view, would not know it without you telling me, but after seeing the next photo would...
ReplyDeletethat is a lots of lichen Rose... i have a lot of it on the rocks down by the shore... but nothing like this... i thought that nature would have reclaimed the farm tools... but i didn't think that it would be lichen....peter:)
ReplyDeleteThat is very interesting . I have seen it grow on trees and rocks, but not on metal.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see on the rust. We have lots of lichen on the trees.
ReplyDeleteAmazing to see!
ReplyDeleteLichens are incredible things. I think they are nice shots.
ReplyDeleteI like the patterns of the growth in the top one; the overall view is worth seeing as well
ReplyDeleteThis is so interesting! I have only seen it growing on trees. The color up image is beautiful! I love the colors and textures.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the close up photo. I have never seen lichen like that.
ReplyDeleteAsí es Rose. La falta de uso lo crea siempre.
ReplyDeleteCuídate,. Un abrazo.
