Drive-by

This one is from the archives...from back in the day when Roger could still drive.  There is no way I could snap a photo of this while driving there.  I cannot even do any good on road where I am the only one on the road if I have to shoot to my left while driving.  Over near Arthur, Illinois where this is taken, the road always has  a few cars coming and going.  Not bumper to bumper, but I sure cannot dwaddle along.  And there is no place to pull over.

Anyway, this is one of the barns I consider a favorite.  I always tell Roger if someone was outside, I would be so tempted to stop and ask for a look inside, and to ask about the history.  and maybe for once I could get a decent photo.

Fall decorations...

I like the fall deorations, but the shot was more about the door.

From the road

Taken in 2009, it was taken as we traveled somewhere.  I know we were traveling because none of the photos are of familiar places.

From he archives...

Roger used to make fishing jigs/lures.  I use these to put a plastic tubeworm on.  He also made some that had a weed-guards.  I prefer the ones with weed-guards.  The above is a cropped portion of the photo below.

Cute critter...

Squirrels are just so cute...I think I was lucky to get this shot.  There is the only single photo of it.  If I had had the chance, I am sure I would have taken more.

From Terre Haute

We were coming up 1st Street in Terre Haute the other day when Roger said, "What was that?"

Since we have seen eagles from that street more than once, I was in high hopes it was one of them.  I went around the block and stopped without pulling out on 1st...when I zoomed in with my camera, this is what I saw.   A Turkey Vulture.   We have a lot of these guys around here.

Tiny bubbles....

I don't remember what I/we were making way back then....but at first glance now, they make me think of frog's eggs.

Another decoration...

There was no way to photograph this without that pull in the background.  I just love this tree...I think she got it in St. Charles, MO...in Old Town.

Christmas decoration

I was not planning on using any of the shots from my daughter's house but cannot resist.  Also, I have posted the photo below at my other blog, but thought some that visit here might get a laugh out of it, too.

This is one tired puppy...can you imagine sleeping with you head hanging down like that?

From the road

We see this barn every time we go to Arthur...there is no place to pull off to take a photo.  And the road is kind of curvy...this is from when Roger could drive.  I like it because it includes the farmer and gives an idea of how big it is.

Hoosier Homestead Farm

A Hoosier Homestead Farm is one that has belonged to the same family for a hundred years.  This is one we have seen in our rambling around the area.

Meet Copper

I have not shown our new Grandpup....our daughter has had him about a month.  He and his siblings were left in a box beside a busy road.  In Tennessee.  A rescue place in North Carolina took the dogs.  Our daughter met them at Dayton, Ohio to get him.  I have shown most of these pics on my other blog want to show them here anyway.

His name does not come from his color, but the first night she had him, he howled when left put in the crate for the night like Copper from The Fox and the Hound.

Kestrel: 1 Hawk: 0

Every time I run across this photo I think 'take that!'....and picture some of the old cartoons.  I cropped it for the following:

I wish it were better in focus, but still am glad to have caught even this.  I am not good with hawk IDs...so could not identify the other hawk.

Hydrangea

This is one flower/plant I just love but have never had one.  I always have to photograph those belonging to someone else.

From the archives...

We came across this barn the same day that as the lichen from previous post.

I just have to show you the views...

I will show a couple more views tomorrow.  These were taken in 2011...I wonder it it is still standing.
