In the neighborhood

I see this little lady every now and then.  She will come to me, but I don't see her often.  I have no idea where she actually lives.   I usually have pecans for her.  I always scan the area for her when I go outside and just had a few minutes before.  I was bringing in groceries and happened to glance down at my feet and she was in and out and around me...I don't know how much she had been following me.  I

  1. Oh my goodness, she looks like she is holding out her tiny arms for a hug! I guess more likely wanting a nut.

  2. Very cute but also very destructive. I wouldn't encourage her to come too close to the house. A squirrel in the roofspace, chewing on the electrical wiring, is not a welcome visitor.

It's spring - if she's got squeaklets, she'll need those extra pecans! YAM xx

  9. What a sweet face. She knows you have nuts for her.
We have squirrels around our house too. Big gray ones that use our roof as their highway from one yard to another.

I love the way your photo captures the colors and textures of her fur? pelt? hair?

  12. How sweet. Fun shot.We used to have a very tame little squirrel we called Miss Piggy because she would do anything for pecans. We worried that she would try to follow us into the house.

  13. She is just too cute! This is a really precious portrait. I have had a few squirrels that over time they would take a peanut out of my hand. They are so much fun to watch. Lately though, some squirrel has been chomping off my tulip flowers.

  14. Eeeeeek! I do not like them! I can't believe she came around you so close when you were bringing in your groceries. I wish I liked them like you, Rose.....but I don't. They frighten me.
