A favorite subject

Any time I get the chance, I photograph thistle.  As usual around here, it was hard to get a shot because of the wind.  And it is not something one can reach  out and hold steady.

  1. Superb!!! Like me, you can really see the beauty in things that others look upon as weeds. But I see a beautiful wildflower, and you have captured the essence of it.

  4. THat's why I leave the shutter speed high... It's always a trade off, but I prefer not needing to worry about the subject or my hand moving. I love this picture.

I do the same when I see thistle. I think it's really pretty in all it's stages.

They are so intricate and picturesque
I haven't taken any photos of ones like that in a long time..in fact I am in kind of a photography slump right now. Snapshots yes but good photography ..nope... I guess I just have too much on my mind and on my plate right now.
Glad I can come here and get a boost..

I have one that popped up in the rockscape and I'm leaving it there. Maybe I'll get some good pictures of it.
