Box Turtle

Roger spotted this little guy when we went for the drive a while back...

I stopped and took him on across the road.

  7. When we drive into Michigan, we like to take the back roads instead of the highways whenever possible. We quite often find a turtle that needs to cross the road at a faster pace than HE is going for safety sake. I love turtles. When the boys were little they brought one home from the river. We kept him for a many years. We called him Stretch because when you picked him up he could stretch his neck around and snap you. When the boys grew up, Stretch went back to the river. You have to love a turtle!

  8. You did a good deed to help him across. He might not have survived if you hadn't.

  11. Oh I do like turtles and you got a terrific shot of this guy. I usually see them with orange and instead of the yellow.

  13. We stopped for a turtle some years back-- it seemed quite unusual, so we took it home. Guess what--- They really don't smell very good! Anyway, an expert from the University came and said that he really was out of his element-- and took him to safer environs. Nice pictures!
