Cell phone shot.....

I don't know why it is, but do you ever notice how some grasshoppers, dragonflies, butterflies, etc are sometimes so wild you cannot get near them, but others, like the grasshopper above let me hold the phone about 4 or 5 inches away without hopping away.   Look at his feet...aren't they an interesting color.  As well as his back legs.

  1. I will admit that he has interesting color and design. I only know, that I would not have gotten that close to a living grasshopper.Big chicken that I am.

  5. I have noticed that with certain bugs and such. More take off than stand still for me though.
This one is simply fascinating. You were really able to get some fantastic detail that we wouldn't ordinarily get to see.

  9. I can not attest to bugs letting me hold my cell phone 4 inches from them because I will NOT.. I use a zoom for bugs, even really nice handsome grasshoppers like this one. he is quite handsome and so many beautiful details. but I don't want him to HOP on me or fly in my face...

  11. Nice close shot of this grasshopper. The field behind my house if full of them, but they are always on the move.

  15. I admire how close and sharp that photo is. My only good buggy cell phone pix that are good are the ones I get Hubby to shoot. I am still working on mastering using the cell phone one-handed, but it's fun to keep trying. You, however, have nailed it!
