I don't know why it is, but do you ever notice how some grasshoppers, dragonflies, butterflies, etc are sometimes so wild you cannot get near them, but others, like the grasshopper above let me hold the phone about 4 or 5 inches away without hopping away. Look at his feet...aren't they an interesting color. As well as his back legs.
I will admit that he has interesting color and design. I only know, that I would not have gotten that close to a living grasshopper.Big chicken that I am.
ReplyDeleteWow, the rainbow of color on his back legs!! What an amazing photo! Your photography never ceases to amaze me!
ReplyDeleteHe is quite striking! Excellent capture!

ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend Rose :))))

I have noticed that with certain bugs and such. More take off than stand still for me though.
ReplyDeleteThis one is simply fascinating. You were really able to get some fantastic detail that we wouldn't ordinarily get to see.
Wow!! I never saw one THAT close up!! Great shot.

Great photo with great details. The hind legs are very strong.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed by the details you have captured! Friendship
ReplyDeleteI can not attest to bugs letting me hold my cell phone 4 inches from them because I will NOT.. I use a zoom for bugs, even really nice handsome grasshoppers like this one. he is quite handsome and so many beautiful details. but I don't want him to HOP on me or fly in my face...
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThey usually move away quickly, great capture. Happy weekend!
Nice close shot of this grasshopper. The field behind my house if full of them, but they are always on the move.
ReplyDeleteThey are fascinating creatures. As a kid, I enjoyed catching them.
ReplyDeleteIt is true---some kust think they hear you and boing off they go. As a kid I loved playing with the grasshoppers and get spit on my hand. We called tobacco

Yes, I have found that too!
ReplyDeleteTerrific close up! Interesting color!
I admire how close and sharp that photo is. My only good buggy cell phone pix that are good are the ones I get Hubby to shoot. I am still working on mastering using the cell phone one-handed, but it's fun to keep trying. You, however, have nailed it!
ReplyDeleteHe was just posing for you! He is very pretty. I like his colorful back legs. A wonderful image!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture! Some one of these days I may go out with my camera and try things thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome picture take with your phone, Rose. He's a handsome fellow, isn't he?
