Something fun...

 A drive-by...maybe I should say a Slow down real slow drive-by.  I got this near the end of February.  Believe it or not it is the best so far.  I have been trying to get one for about 7 or 8 months.  I know it is coming, by the surrounding area...a brown barn sits across the way from it.  But from the road, you come around a small curve...not a bad one...but still you come around and right there they are and then they are gone.  But I smile every time I see them.  There is a sign that sits in front that says 'Minion Manor.'

Lure making...

 Roger used to always be doing something...he tied actual flies sometimes and others made lures.   I think he enjoyed making things as much as he enjoyed using them.

 Places like this always appeal to me...it is a place I would have known by heart if I had lived near it.

What was your first thought when you saw this photo?   The title was my first thought when I saw this vulture in the middle of the road.

Sleeping/not sleeping...

 We managed to wander down to Goose Pond on this past Friday....I was hoping to see some something.  Two or three roads we wanted to go down were covered by water.   We did see a few ducks, and several hawks...and I was about to give up and head home and Lo and behold, I spotted these.  They were so far away I could not tell what they were.

I walked down till I was opposite them...I was still a distance away...though these photos are not the best, I am also amazed they are as good as they are.  The wind was off and iceberg and strong enough to cut right through a person.  If I had had an umbrella I could have become Mary Poppins.  So was luck that they are not terrible blurry just from the wind factor alone.

 We managed a drive yesterday...was going down a rural road and happened to spy this sign.  It made me laugh out loud.  Also, the road was really rough.

Robin

 Is it me, or is its breast redder than normal?  This is the color it was...I thought it seemed a deeper color than normal.  Also, if it is, I wonder if it has to do with it being this early in spring.

Not my headache

 I really admire touches like these, or that 'Fairytale House' the other day, I too, would not want to have to deal with the upkeep.

Fairytale house

 Whoever built this was talented...what a challenge this would be to built.  Any house with a turret makes me think of fairytales.

Can't resist

 I did not remember this barn...there is one other barn that I know of that is always this 'knock your eyes out' red color.   I would like to find this one again and see if it is still this brilliant red.  The one near here always remain the same bright color red.

Barn in spring...

 This is not the greatest photo, but it sure feels like spring.  Taken in April of 2010.  Look how fresh and green that grass is! If you will notice in the distance, the trees are just beginning to turn green.

 I am pretty sure this is the second knife my husband made...many, many moons ago.

 I have been going to try to identify this but have not taken the time to yet.  So I hope someone can tell me in their comments.  It isn't just a female House Sparrow, is it?

A little cutie

 I always throw seeds on the ground for the squirrels, too.  They are so much fun to watch if you catch them playing. It is worth it for the joy of that.

 I actually think this is an unpublished barn.  I wonder what shape it is in now.  Notice the roof is starting to deteriorate.
