Blogging break

 

I want to share a pic from my daughter....she wanted to read and this was one of the reactions/looks she got from Copper.

I will be taking a break from blogging for a while.

At work

I captured this spider at work a few years ago.

Barn in the valley

 I take photos of this barn every time I drive by it.  I think I love it cause it is the only one in this long valley.

Locust blossoms...

 I always love these blossoms.  These were taken another year.

From a previous year....

 My peony is not blooming yet, but it is full of buds.  So maybe before too long I can take a new photo.

Yum!

We were talking the other day.  I ask Roger if he remembered these.  He was coming home from work late, and spotted these on an old tree at the edge of the road.  He did not have anything to put them in.  So he came home to get a flashlight and something to put them in.  My brother happened to be here and they went back and picked them in the dark.  He has eaten these mushroom all his life...and I started after I married him.  We have never seen any this big--before or after. 

Pink Snow

 This is an old photo....I so wish I had had the nerve to walk up in the yard and take a picture looking down at all the petals.

American robin

 They are in our yard till late summer/early fall....then we see them no more here at home.  The only reason I can think of is because the yard gets so dry.  We see them other places.

Blooming again

After the snow and the frost, it is still blooming.  I am thankful.

 

Kitty Soft Paws

Not a regular barn...

 In October, pre pandemic, there was a Parke County Covered Bridge festival.  Parke county is a farming community with a population of less than 20, 000 people.  During the 10 days that the festival goes on, over a million people pass through.  This barn is full of booths during those days. In fact every little town has things going on.  Vendors, food....oh, and along all the roads there are yard sales and more yard sales. Hopefully sometime in the near future, it can resume.

Another one...

 This iris bloomed the first time Saturday...almost exactly a month later than the other iris I posted.  They are planted in the same area.  And have never bloomed this far apart before.

Cute

 This is not everyone's cup of tea, but it sure makes me smile when I see it.

Mayapple

 Not the greatest photo every, but it is another favorite plant in the woods.  This was taken from about ten feet away.

Alliums...

 Last year was my first year to have alliums...I do not know much about them.  Any hints about growing them would be appreciated.

Nesting?

 I am not sure if they are going to nest there or if they are just enjoying the sunshine.  They were so far away I did not notice the pair at the bottom till I downloaded the picture.  If you are not careful you  might miss one of the pair at the bottom.  And I for sure did not see the turtle.

A closer look....

 I brought a couple irises inside....I noticed they had bloomed early this morn and snapped this with my phone.

Bye-bye birdie

 Off into the overcast sky it went...

Quilt....

 This is a quilt I made a few years ago...one of our daughters has it.  It has a flannel back and is so snuggly.

Another farm scene

 I don't think I have ever published this photo...it is a drive-by.  Back when Roger was doing the driving.  I still had to straighten it a lot.

Old Homestead Farm

 I seldom see barns this color.  I think it is a pleasant color but I prefer red.
