Eye-catching

There was a clump of these flowers in someone's back yard. They were spilling over onto the sidewalk so I did not feel guilty stopping to take a photo or two. Does anyone know what these are?

Lonesome

We passed this barn on the way home yesterday...we both thought it just looked sooo lonely. I think it is partly because of how hazy the air was, but also there just was not much else around. Not even any other traffic. I don't remember for sure if we passed any cars at all on this stretch of highway.

Comin' straight on for you....

We saw this crop duster while over in Illinois today...I have seen it before but did not get a good photo.
I plan to put two or three more photos of it over on Pics & Pieces.

Sunset from the strip pits....

I made a quick run through the strip pits this evening...this is one of the photos of the sunset I got.

Blended in

When we took Lorelei to the creek Tuesday, there were all kinds of little frogs and toads. Some were this size, some were and inch or so and some were not as big as my fingernails....and I don't have long fingernails. Lorelei thought they were neat.

Tennessee barn

I am sure glad I took a lot of barn photos while in Tennessee...I have not been getting out much for anything new around here. Anyway, this is my entry for Tricia's Barn Charm meme...I hope to see you there.

Turtles on a log....

These were out at the strip pits the other night...there was another longer log with 3 or 4 more turtles but they slipped in the water the minute I got my camera out. I was happy I got to capture these...I think they are painted turtles. They are for sure not snapping turtles...

Dragonfly

I did not even have to get out of the car to take this photo....

Singing for his supper

I ran out to the strip pits to see if I could see the Great-horned Owl again...no luck there. But I heard dickcissels all over the place. I paused to capture this one as he sang his little heart out.

An oldie but goldie....

This is from last year....please enlarge it to get the best view. I have posted it before...I don't remember if on here or on my Pics & Pieces blog, but I ran across it and liked it all over again. It was taken as we headed to Shipshewana....actually not taken too far from here early in the morn. I love the sun shining through the fog....

Sunflower....

This shot was taken in the middle of the day, no rain in sight, yet it had those drops of water.

Do you see what I see?

First of all, enlarge the above photo and see if you see anything interesting in it. Oh, I think the whole photo has a weird feel to it. This place always seems like it is on another planet and I have been there several times. It usually has a little more water in it when I am there but it always feels kind of strange. We always stop and get out and look and see what we can see.

Now look at the photo below! Isn't he a big, handsome fellow?

Entering Barn Charm Meme once again!

At long last I am home and am well enough to enter Tricia's Barn Charm meme....
These were taken in Tennessee at the end of April...
which seems like a lifetime ago now.
If you want to join, click Here....

And Tricia, sorry to have let you down the past two weeks. You know I love this meme...I was in Indianapolis the first time I missed and was sick last week. I guess I need to schedule them way ahead!
