An old post...when Delta met Charlie...called Delta In Love --in August of 2017

Meet Charlotte, aka Charlie.  Our daughter that owns Delta got her this weekend.  Delta loooovvveees her... (this was back in Aug of 2017)

Here she stalks Delta from the back of the couch.

Delta checks her out...she has to make sure she is okay.

You might have to expand this to see that Charlie is between Delta's front legs...

Look at them....don't you just love it!  Charlie has no fear of pouncing on Delta...

Grand-fur-babies....

My daughter lives in the St, Louis area.  She sent me this photo earlier this evening.  They have been experiencing storms.  This is her dog, Delta, who does not like storms.  So my daughter places this quilt in the corner of her sectional....then Delta comes and sits and looks at her till she comes and sits with her.

Notice on the back of the couch is her kittie, Charlie.  (short for Charlotte)  They are best of friends, and chase each other through the house.  And they sound about like a herd of horses.  Charlie, will run along the back of the couch and reach and get Delta, or jump on her.

Photo overload

These photos were taken on the same day as the photos in the previous post.   We have never been able to find it again.  I had not even remembered the barn in the previous post, but the place shown in these photos....I think about it often enough.

I am just showing them in the order they were taken.  Notice that the chain is locked on the dog.  There was another dog, looked like at least part Goldern Lab, with a chain and lock just like this one.

And I always remember the dark colored horse.

Notice the chain....that is the chain that the dog is locked to.  There were posted signs everywhere....I wonder did they have a lot of trouble with trespassers, or were they trying to hide something.

This is a barn we came across a few years ago...it is somewhere south and east of Terre Haute.

You can tell that it was a later time in the year than now.

Buzzard roost

For a few years, the Turkey Vultures roosted right down town on this tower.   Which is beside the Police Station/ Fire Station/ City Hall.  I don't know what was done, but they no longer roost there.

There would be well over a hundred.  I wish I had tried to count them at least once but I never took the time.  BTW, neither of these photos show how many were normally there at night.

And the road goes on forever

Taken through the windshield...I actually did a bit of photoshop work to take out an area of dirty windshield.  I have not looked at it in expanded view...so you may be able to see it when you click it.

3A says hello

Photos from 2013....

I have no idea what breed of cow this is.  Her horns are pretty.

The remains of the day...May 5, 2019

Thought I would show a few more pics from our drive on May 5...

I barely managed a capture of this Wood Duck...he and his mate were in some backwaters beside the rode we were on and quickly skidaddled away when I paused to snap a pic.  This is the first time I have ever been sure I was seeing a Wood Duck.

This is another barn I have shown numerous times before.  I photograph every time I pass it.

This is just a small portion of a huge orchard north of us.  Probably not huge by some standards.  I have always hoped to catch it in full bloom but never have.  They had taken out a lot of trees in this one section since the last time I was through there.

Anyone missing winter?

A few scenes from 2008....

Just so you know...

I have not had enough warm weather to make me miss snow.

A bit of wild beauty.....

A bit of beauty....I can never resist photographing these.  Taken with my  trusty phone.

Its all from this afternoon....

First of all, let me encourage you to click to expand the view...if you really want a good view, click and open each one in a new tab or window.

Also, I am showing them in the order taken.  There are quite a few, but I just could not narrow down the selection any more.  Also, all are taken with my phone....

The first few are from the strip pits....the above is looking east...

The one above is looking northeast.... and the one below is looking south.

The above are the three I chose from the the area of the strip pits.  The next are taken just west of that area...maybe 2 miles west....

So, so beautiful...

Makes you wonder what is coming for sure...

This one is almost a replica of one above...

Swamp area....

This is one of my favorite spots on earth...I just wish it was closer to home.  Though it is only about 25-30 minutes away....still its not a place I  can just go pop by.  This view looks north....don't know why I don't take one looking south, because it is on both sides of the road.  The road runs through it, just barely big enough for two cars to pass.  We seldom see more than one car while there.

All the way across there were geese....they were so far I couldn't tell what they are till I zoomed in with my camera.

There were two different pairs...

Can't resist

These have started blooming...but this does not show the color that you see when you are looking at them from a distance.

See the tips of the bud...how it looks almost black.  That is what the flowers actually look like.  You see them and your first thought is that they are black...until you get closer and look.

Another iris in bloom...

These was taken two or three days ago with my phone....I just tonight thought to send them to my computer.

Both have been cropped...the second one went on Instagram the other day.

Gotcha!

It did catch the fish but I didn't capture it swallowing it....

Well done!

This was from our last drive...one I have been on many times.  This was new.  Or new to me.  I am not sure I have been by there in the last year or two...but I think I have.  I think it is very well done.

from last weekend...

We passed by this barn last weekend...I have other pics of it from years ago if I could just find them.

I think it is a well loved barn...they had just finished mowing when I took these pics.

For some of you, you might enjoy reading Funny...Tool List on my other blog....
