Rooster

Roosters are one of my very favorite subjects!  I like hens, too, just not quite as much as roosters.

One of my favorite subject to photograh is this farm over in Illinois....

I might as well give you a couple more views through the years.

Scene from the past

From 2009, all this lacks is some cattle or a horse or two.  I would like it so much better then.

Because they make me smile....

I came across these...they were taken the same day as the the photo in the previous post.

For some reason they make me want to laugh...

Today's favorite

Took a minute to turn into the strip pit area and captured a few photos of some swans.  This was my luckiest shot.

My little friend...

This little guy was very friendly, but was kind of hard to have it on my finger and only use one hand on my DSLR and photograph it at the same time.

Do you like this or not???

I like it...but would like it better if the wing was a more defined blur...something at least recognizable as a wing.  I guess I should count myself lucky that I got this at all.

From the garden 2010

I ran across this while trying to go back to find an earlier picture of the barn/house in the previous post.   (We have been sick almost all week...hopefully we are on the mend.  I will try to post regularly and visit everyone.)

Barn conversion

This is not that far from here....I should go see the state of affairs now.

These were taken in 2011. I think I have photos of it before they started converting it to a house.

Great Blue Heron

Just a couple shots of this Great Blue Heron...

Though they look like different versions of the same shot, they are actually different shots.

Morning view....

This was a part of my morning view, 90% of the days I went to school.

Three photos--one bird

After we left the strip pit area last week, or the week before...I spotted this hawk.  This first shot was through the front windshield.

These last two I had opened the door quietly and tried to snap a couple decent photos...

I used Picasa to edit all of them, trying to make them presentable.

How about some 'sunshine?'

It may not be actual sunshine, but these flowers sure brighten my day when I see them.

From Patton's Corner

I am wanting to go back there....the old guy that collected all the stuff there passed away a couple or three years ago.  Every time I go back by, I half expect it to all be gone.  To see more stuff from there click the label Patton's Corner at the bottom of this post.  You may even see this one again.

In the backyard...

Not in my back yard, but I wish it were.  We saw this little 'studio' or whatever it was in 2011

I, of course, fell in love with it.

I would give anything to know where it was located....I would like to see it now.

From the strip pit area

Fresh from the strip pit area west of here:

Not the best quality...my videos never are.  Still it gives you a feel for what we were seeing.  And this does not do it justice at all.  This is zoomed in....I wish I had started out at normal vision to give you a feel for the size of the place but I will include some pics below.  This is not very long....so it won't take up a lot of time.

How would you like to attempt to count them?  Keep in mind that you are not seeing all the way to the other end.  This strip pit is really long....I thought close to a mile, but then on second thoughts it probably isn't that long.  There are brush/bushes at the end and I cannot get a clear shot through them.  My little P&S camera lacks to capability to set a focus point, and always wants to focus on the brush.

Anyway, the other end was a solid mass of white.  Or appeared that way from the end I was at.

What a sight they were....

I hope you have enjoyed these.

If I can keep it in mind, I will be linking to I'd Rather B Birdin'....also, there are at least a couple more photos over at my Pics & Pieces ....
