Always liked these.....

 I have always liked ornamental cabbage but never grown any.  This is also one of Lorelei's photos.  I did crop it a little bit.

Hidden silk...

 This is the first one of the fall for me...it was taken September 8.  I saw one or two more, but most were still green.

Mayapple

 Not the greatest photo every, but it is another favorite plant in the woods.  This was taken from about ten feet away.

Lotus blossom

 I am hoping to get back out to the pond before they are all gone but at the same time I am wondering if this will be the last time photographing them this year.

Milo...

 Some of the land in the strip area is being farmed.  There is a big field of milo...I want to go back again and try a photo of the field from a different viewpoint.  It is just beautiful.  

A bit more color

 

Yes, it is poison ivy. And while it always gets so colorful, I don't think I have ever seen it quite the color this was.  Almost a dull copper color.  

Teasel

I don't remember exactly where I was when I photographed this a few years ago.  I don't remember ever seeing it before or after.

Spun gold...

Either you will like this or you will wonder why in the world I posted such a picture.  I thought it glistened like gold in the evening light.

Buttonbush....

I had never saw these bushes till a few years ago.

I find them fascinating.  They are just about always just out of my reach to touch.

Big Boy Tomato

I only have two tomato plants...this one being the Big Boy variety.  The best I could tell, it has four tomatoes.

Some kind of grass...

Not sure what this grass is.  The blade would just about cut you if you were to walk through a patch of it with bare legs.

It was up by the swamp we went to last weekend.

There were a lot of these in the woods near the lake...I took several pics and this is the only one that is half decent.  Does anyone know what it is?   I would love to go back and see how they develop.

Edited to add that John  has identified this as Pussytoes...so thankful to him.  I had no idea.

Waiting for the green...

I am starting to get anxious for color to appear...until it does I will have to be satisfied with photos.

What is left....

I thought I might find a milkweed pod with seeds left, but no such luck.  This one only had a very few still clinging.

Just a bit of bright color....

Taken a few years ago, any time I run across the photos they appeal to me.  I did not realize how much I like this color till just a few years ago.  Or maybe I just started like it.

And how about this day lily for some more gorgeous color.  I took this back in July at a quilt shop in Danville, Illinois...
