Kestrel: 1 Hawk: 0

Every time I run across this photo I think 'take that!'....and picture some of the old cartoons.  I cropped it for the following:

I wish it were better in focus, but still am glad to have caught even this.  I am not good with hawk IDs...so could not identify the other hawk.

Hydrangea

This is one flower/plant I just love but have never had one.  I always have to photograph those belonging to someone else.

From my favorite place on tis earth....

I am thankful for so much...and I  am so thankful to have grown up in the mountains of East Tennessee.

Happy Thanksgiving!

From the archives...

We came across this barn the same day that as the lichen from previous post.

I just have to show you the views...

I will show a couple more views tomorrow.  These were taken in 2011...I wonder it it is still standing.

Lichen like you have not seen before...

I have been looking for these photos off and on for a week or more.  I just thought you might find it interesting.  And the bottom shot is to put it in perspective.

Hawk

This is one of two photos I took of this hawk the other day.  I saw several but did not have time to stop.

Barn in autumn

I came across this the other night...I don't think I have ever posted it.

The things you see...

It always pays to pay attention when out...but often I get focused on looking for something specific and fail to see what is right in front of me.

Scenes from the road...

These are drive-by shots...but back when my husband was the driver.  The barn from yesterday was a drive-by from that same day.

Another white barn....

I think it is over in Illinois...this was taken several years ago.

Big white barn...

I pulled this one from the archives.    It was taken so long ago, I had to look at the surrounding photos to remember where I took it.

A place to rest in peace....

This is in the middle of big farm field in Illinois.  I had to really zoom in to get this shot.

(This is posting Friday night...I had Mohs surgery today...I had had another spot of skin cancer close to where I had one 5 or 6 yrs ago, so she thought they should do the Mohs surgery.  The first time was free of cancer.  But I still spent the day doing that.  I will try to catch up with everyone in the next day or two.)

A quick snap

This was just one single shot of these grain bins...several things I have shown I have chosen the best of attempts but this is the one and only shot of these.  It could have been better, but lucky to get it.  And for some reason I like it...even with the top cut off...so no need to point out the shortcomings.  I know they are there.  It is a drive by...I don't have time to do anything but sort of aim and shoot.

It has seen better days...

Another old barn seen by the road on the way to and from our daughters' houses.
