Old business building...

I loaded this before I left home...was in a hurry to load something and this is just what I came to first.  We were sitting at a stoplight in Crawfordsville...love these old buildings.  I just wish I could have been around to see some of these places built.

For the Barn Collective...

I hit those magical keys....that published before I was ready...quick going to load some pics taken within the past couple weeks.  Some here, and maybe one or two over in Illinois...
This one is from US 41 in Parke County.
A second view of the same barn.
Here is one from probably Montgomery County...sorry the windshield was dirty.
And this was the only chance to get a picture of this one...too much blocking the view when we went on just a few feet.  Still, it just begged to be photographed.
And this one was from Illinois, I think.  We were were in and out of Illinois on this drive and I never knew for sure which state we were in.

Good fences from the road...

These are from last week's short ramble...
I zoomed in for a bit closer view.
I had to snag one through the back window to get this one.

Come on in, the water's fine!

Actually, it was getting ready to join them on the log.  Looking at the pic, it appears to be asking them to come on in.

Coca-Cola

Just an old advertisement seen in Vermilion, Illinois.  I would love to know how old it actually is.  Probably not as old as I think, but then again, maybe it is with it being under the roof.  It has been protected a little bit from the weather.

Drive-bys again...

Again, I am relying on drive-bys for this weeks Barn Collective.  This first was taken south of us, probably even south of Bloomington, Indiana.  It was taken on the 12th.
Now these others were taken on the 17th...and part of them was taken at a slower pace.  The one above being a fairly slow drive....
I forgot about this one and the one below...Roger actually stopped and I quickly stepped out to snap a couple pics.  I really like the view below that includes more.
Notice the goldenrod...it is every where we go now.  And I love seeing it.
This barn has sure been better days...we came around the curve and there it was.  no way to pull off and would have been stupid to slow down very much.
You can tell by the foreground that we are moving at a good clip...but I still like the pic fairly well.
So there you have my weeks worth of barns...I hope you enjoyed them.

This was taken at Sarah's house the last time we were over there...

An invitation

This looks like an open invitation to come sit a spell on the porch.  The shade and the appearance is so inviting

Critters...

I don't know if all guinea fowl are vocal or not, but my aunt had some and they were very vocal when I was around them.  I assumed it was because they were not used to me.
Don't you think they are the strangest looking birds?  Of course, they might think I was a bit strange looking myself.
These two were at the same place.

Good fences...

For good fences, I am showing pics taken a week or so ago...the one above sort of belongs to yesterday's post, but saved it for Good Fences since it shows more of the fence.
Next we have a critter behind a fence...
A bit closer view...
these guys were in the same pasture as well as the guys below.
Thanks go to Theresa for hosting this meme!

Given a reprieve

On the back way from Mansfield to Bridgeton, there used to be a an old house that stood to the left of this little house/building.  We used to always pause and wonder what its story was.  A month or two ago, we passed and they were in the process of tearing it down.  I figured everything was slated for demolition.  Instead this has been given a reprieve...and has what looks like a brand new roof.
And this one is was left standing.  I wonder what the plans are for these places...maybe they intend to make rentals cabins of them for the Covered Bridge Festival.  Or maybe they will have some kind of shops in them.  Whatever they do, I am glad something was left.

Birds at my feeder

This one is for sure cropped...taken with my little P&S camera.
Another cropped shot of the nuthatch...
It was in and out constantly.   Never stays for very long.
I say it, but actually there may be more than one that comes.  I am not sure.
Down below a dove looks for dropped seeds..
I do know I see more than one of them out there at times....

Drive-bys from the past week+1

I am not sure this is exactly a barn, but it is a farm building.  It is heavily cropped, but if you notice along the left side, you can still see a bit of reflection.or dirt in/on the windshield.  This is one of those buildings I would love to stop and photograph, but no place to pull off.
This turned out much better than I had hoped...I was turned looking through the back window.
And just a bit farther on is this barn...the three above are along St. Rd. 41 south of Rockville.
This one is not a drive-by, it is in Parke County, but I can't think right where it is at right now.

These were all taken the same day as the photos posted here and here were taken.

Can you name this plant/vine?

I haven't yet taken the time to try to figure out what it is.
I did not actually feel of these...but they look prickly.
The wind was blowing the entire time I was trying to snap these...very lucky they are as in focus as they are.
Update:
Deb correctly identified this as the Wild Bur Cucumber....thank-you Deb!

House detail...

I want to go back and get the rest of the house.  I cannot remember anything else about it.  This drew my attention right away.

Blowing in the wind....

Wouldn't you know I came across this view the day after Labor Day weekend?  Out in the country, basically in the middle of nowhere.  And I did not near all the flags.
