A home in Howe

We ran across this home in Howe, Indiana.  Even though it could use a little TLC, I really, really like it.
Notice the windows--that little round one right there by the front porch and also the one with the arch that is uppermost.
Doesn't that look like a porch you could relax on?

More Indiana barns....

First a little B&W...
            Then the color version.
Next, a bit another in color only...
First appearing like this...I am sure a zoomed in shot...
Closer up is all this green...at first glance the barn seems so different but the more I look, the  more I think it is thre green grass and tree that makes the difference.
Not the greatest photo, but the barn is a different shape, so I am showing it anyway.
Just another drive by here...
And here...in fact, all the shots are drive-bys.  Taken on the way home on October 8th.

I am linking to Tom's Barn Collective...

Somewhere up north of us...

All these shots are of the same grain elevator...taken as we were slowly passing or paused in traffic...
Just had to convert this one to:
I think it looks like it could have come from an earlier time in B&W.
This one is from on down the road...we had stopped at a gas station...as we were leaving, Roger paused and I rolled the window down and grabbed this shot.

Praying mantis

I went to sit down outside one day and happened to look down....this guy was on the chair next to me.

Reflections

I have never decided if I like this or not...it is not near as pretty as it was in real life.

All drive-bys, all from October 5, 2015

I am going back to the drive up to Shipshewana for my Good Fences post.  Notice they all have barns in them, too.
First there is this barn with fence...it has only been touched a little...but I have to show you this version:
I hit the 'Boost' button and really like the improvement.  At least on this computer.  I know images sometimes look totally different on different computers.
Next we have this one...I love the looks of that old fence.  Click to expand the view to see it better.
Then there is this shot...just a regular fence with it...
and then this is the last one for this post.  With a nice white board fence...slightly out of focus.

Linking to Theresa's Good Fences...thank you so much for keeping this meme going...and hope you and everyone else has a Happy Thanksgiving.

Seen on the way

We saw this building again...when we went to Shipshewana last month.  I have posted a pic of it before somewhere.
It fascinates me...it is such a cool old building.  It is always just there and gone before I can do anything.

Colorful

This is some kind of sumac....photo taken October 26.  Almost a month ago.
This sumac was at a different park.  I think sumac in general has some of the pretties fall foliage.

Why are you looking at me?

One of the cows that I photograph quite often...I often wonder do their owners ever notice me stopping to photograph them

Barns

I don't have the greatest selection for the Barn Collective this week..but am using them anyway just to get them posted.
This and the one below are from Edgar County, Illinois.  Taken this past week.
I hope you don't mind a farm scene...there is a barn in it.  But it is more just a regular, old farm scene.
This is one in Parke County, Indiana, taken Nov 9th, as is the following barn.
I snap these every time I get half a chance.  There is literally no place to pull off, and most times enough traffic to not be able to slow down.

First snow

We had our first snow yesterday morn...we had a couple inches for just a little while.  the temperatures warmed up and most of it melted.

These are murals we saw in Howe, Indiana.

It is such a small town to have two murals that are so nice.

Time for some fences!

I don't know if that s the grave of somebody or the grave of a beloved pet.  It is on private property, so I did not walk over to it.  Taken a few years ago...
This is a shot from up near Shipshewana, taken October 7th.

Another fall shot, this time from Parke County.

I guess that is it for this time...thanks to Theresa we can still link to:

From last month

I took this last month and never did get it posted...this is the courthouse in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Do you see the beauty?

I was shooting into the sun...not sure why there is that haze across the bottom.  I wish you could have seen this in person...all those weeds were just simply beautiful with the sun shining through them.

Local produce

This was up close to Shipshewana...we didn't stop.  Now I wish we had.

Barns from Indiana

I am again featuring barns from our visit to Shipshewana.

First a white barn with a red roof...

Then a couple red ones...

How about two of this one...

l am not sure what this building was used for...but I am including it in here.

The lighting was horrible for it, but I did the best I could do.

How about this place?

This was in Howe, Indiana...I think part of the Howe Military Academy.
Just showing a few zoomed in shots
I love the design, the colors, the details..
I would love to be able to view the inside.
