Back in time for barns...

This one from 2008, I think.  Probably northern Illinois...

And one from Tennessee in 2012.

Lily of the Valley

This is a lucky shot...I just held my camera down low and hoped for the best.  Not that this is perfect, but it sure isn't half bad.

Seen today!!!!

We seen this out at the strip pit are...only the second osprey I have ever seen.

It was quite a distance away so I zoomed in with my little point & shoot camera.  For some reason it kept looking the other way.

It was eating something but I could not tell what.

I know this is  photo overload....

Just click and expand the view and get a better view.

It's blooming already!

I noticed one single bloom yesterday, and there was one more almost open so I assumed it would be open today.  And it was.

I did not count but there at least 5 or 6 blooms open.  I did not remember it blooming this early.  Not that I am complaining...just making a statement.

Spring Mill State Park

For Tuesday's treasures...I am showing a few scenes from Spring Mill State Park in Indiana.

I love to visit places like this...

We have had our family picnic down there the past couple or three years...

but we just stay at a shelter and talk and visit.  These photos are from 2007.

I wish I had a fireplace...

I would be happy with either one of these.  There is nothing like sitting by a fire and visiting with a friend.

Stroll down memory lane

To have barns to post, I had to stroll back through a few little rambling drives and choose some from the past.  This one I know I have posted before, but it has been a while...it is from 2009.

This one is from that same day in November, but I honestly do not think I have ever posted it.

Another from November of 2009, taken a few days after the first two.  I don't think I would have posted this before.

This one is from pre-digital days.  Remember film?   This barn is no longer there.  It has been gone a good while.  I did not think it looked that bad, but one day went back by there and it was just gone.  Only to live on in my memory and photos.

My first iris...

I was quite surprised to see this today....I did a quick snap of it.  It turned out better than I thought it would.

Progress???

I photographed this place a week or two ago...HERE is a photo of it from 2011. Looks to me like it is slow going, yet I feel like it has improved.

Peek-a-boo

Of all things, the robin has built a nest in my wisteria vine at the end of my front porch.  If I ease the door open, she always looks at me like this.  I can get my mail and she stays there, but if I step out she flies.  Consequently, we mostly sit on the back porch when we have a minute.

Roads...

There is nothing quite as inviting as a road stretching out ahead...whether it is empty

Some have bends and curves...

some are straight...

Some have treasures beside them....

Others are ahead around the bend....

Yep, I love roads and consider them treasures beyond measure.

Handsome guy

Such a handsome rooster....

Pink Dogwood

I love dogwoods....whether white or pink.  Pink is my favorite, and I would love it if this one stayed this shade of pink.  Usually by the time it opens up real good it is white, then turns back pink, but it is a brighter pink.  It has did this ever since it was injured.  Each year I watch and hope it will stay this color.

I wish it were mine!

Went down to the local DQ this morn and this was sitting there!

I knew I had to photograph it for Tuesday's Treasures.

So here you have it....in all its glory.

First United Methodist Church, Paris, Illinois

I was shooting towards the sun but could not resist a few shots.

This is the second time I have happened by this church and both times was mid day.

I would love to see this at night when the lights are on...

Barns from the past week...

Look at the weather vane!  A great rooster, I think.

This barn was in one of the photos yesterday, but I thought I  would post a couple that are zoomed in.

I even took the color out of this one...

And I will finish up with this...I have posted a pic of it years ago.  It had much more color back then.
