I love dogwoods, but only have this one in my yard...it was injured when it was young. It is amazing that it still lives. For several years after the injury the flowers would start out completely white, even though it is a pink dogwood. Each year since there has been less and less white...this may be completely normal now.

And who can resist lilacs....can you smell this one???? It was actually so windy today that I could not smell it when I walked out, but normally I can walk outside and just be enveloped by the smell.

These photos are spectacular, Rose. You are a terrific photographer...one can almost touch and smell the flowers. I like them both very much but the second one reminds me of a master painter...the colors are to die for!
Mary: Beautiful photo, I hope you aren't getting the snow we have now coming down.
These are both absolutely gorgeous, Rose! I'm glad your dogwood is back to normal. My parents had a lilac tree in our yard when I was growing up. I loved the fragrance.
Beautiful dogwood, Rose. Sorry to hear that it was injured at one time... But--it looks normal now. At least, it looks like our Pink Dogwood.
AND--yes--the Lilacs are so wonderful and smell so good. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy
Our dogwoods are starting to bloom and we have both white and pink dogwood around the house. I hope your dogwood has now fully recovered.
Is this the normal time of year for thee to bloom in Indiana? The dogwood is such a pretty blossom. I wish I could grow them here but our winters are usually too cold. And the lilacs are blooming already!
I can just smell those lilacs.
A fine series of pictures! Love the huge sun and the interesting horizon. The flower shots are exceptional.
Lovely color and detail. A wonderful post today!
These are beautiful Rose!
What fantastic photographs! Your Dogwood is gorgeous! The Lilac is lovely too! I will be coming back to your blog again daily!
I am so glad this beautiful dogwood survived its injury, and your lilac photo is wonderful. Have a great week.
